Job Summary & Responsibilities:
The Foreign Exchange (FX) desk is a key player in the global FX markets. We trade a wide array of products ranging from vanilla FX spot-forwards to exotic structured derivatives on major and emerging market currencies. The FX franchise serves a global clientele, helping them manage their exposure to currency risk.
Foreign Exchange is an incredibly fast-moving business and is a growing source of revenue for the Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities division, and for the firm in general. Coupled with the drive towards electronic trading, this role provides many challenging and rewarding opportunities for the successful candidate.
The FX business has witnessed explosive growth in electronic / algorithmic trading, and this emphasizes our need for high-performance, high-volume automated trading systems. To address this surge, we are in the process of re-engineering our system landscape. Several of the many areas we focus on include: Development of reliable and scalable messaging and trade capture systems, managing risk in real time, high frequency price calculation architecture, and an extensible client-facing and internal application toolset.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial individual to join the New York Application Development team. In this role the candidate will :
Work with the traders, salespeople and strategists from several locations to define requirements for new business initiatives, applications or enhancements to existing tools.
Create robust technical infrastructure to deliver efficient and scalable applications for traders/sales force.
Participate in design and review sessions.
Sit on the trading desk, and provide support for new and existing applications. Support is a key part of the job and requires an outgoing individual to foster relationships with the user community.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years work experience
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Strong programming experience in .NET C#.
Strong understanding of multi-threaded applications
Proven track record of delivering robust commercial real-time systems.
As this is a client facing role, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a requirement
